get fundraising

There are so many great ways you can fundraise for us, either by yourself or with your friends and colleagues. Whether you put your running shoes on, have a dress-down Friday at work, or host a bake sale, every penny you raise will make a difference to the lives of the people we support.

If you would like to speak to someone about fundraising, please email info@bournefamilyproject.org or call 0117 9478441. We’ve put together an A-Z of fundraising ideas if you’re a bit stuck.

Charlie, cut off 17 inches of her hair raising over £700 for us! She donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust to create a wig for a child.

Volunteer

We are always looking for different ways to enhance and expand our service with volunteers.

Are you a qualified counsellor or children’s therapist looking to join a team? Perhaps you are looking to gain some more experience in a new setting or give something back to the community.

Or maybe you have a different skill or expertise that could help our team. We’re always on the look out for volunteers for fundraising support.

In return for your time and commitment, we can give you an induction, thorough training and supervision support in a friendly and supportive environment. We value every single member of our team.

If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to hear from you. Please call us on 0117 9478441 for an informal chat or drop us an email.

 Students

Supporting the training and development of future therapists is an important part of the work we do. We have a long and successful track record of supporting therapy students on placement. Here is what some of them have said:

The variety of clients I was able to see as a trainee counsellor was a real asset and also that I was wable to work with some of them for up to 20 sessions meaning we could get into the work a bit deeper. BFP has a large client base with complex trauma and this has greatly benefited my practice going forward.
— Nadine (Counselling student)
The experience of working within a setting like BFP was useful as I had only been school based before so it helped gain greater experience and develop my confidence
— Donna (Diploma in Play Therapy)
I felt very welcome and supported. I liked being able to attend the group meetings to hear what else was going on
— Jon (Counselling student)

If you are an adults counsellor or creative therapist (including play, art, music and dance/movement) seeking a placement who is currently studying on an accredited course please contact info@bournefamilyproject.org for a student placement pack. We may even be able to arrange for you to visit a current student to see what a placement with us is like.
